REASON TO THINK WELCOMES YOU !!!!!

Hi Thinkers,

I am Krupa, a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who loves to teach tiny tots! I have been an educator for 16 years now. Along with ‘teaching’ writing has always been like a vent for my thoughts.

I have started this blog called ‘Reasons to Think’ to pour my thoughts that have been confined in the four walls of my mind. On this blog, I write about general topics that you must have seen written by other writers or heard from some good speakers, but here I present to you my perspective. To be frank, I am not a professional writer but a person who loves to write.

I don’t ask everyone to agree with my views but I would like to make a request to everyone to not jump to conclusions but to first ponder upon the thought and the writing. Just as the name of my blog suggests – Reason to Think, my perspective would triggers you to think. I personally believe that thinking minds can always get rid of problems in life.

Apart from writings I have also focused on creating worksheets and activities for the kids as young as 2+ years, to enhance their cognitive, visual intelligence,, correlation and also to improve child’s concentration. I have also created some “picture interpretation” sheets keeping in mind to develop bonding with teacher or parents and also to escalate kids communication, imagination and creative skills.

Desire vs Dream

We all wish many things in life and work hard to attain it. It can be a chocolate, ice-creams, nice dress, a costly watch, latest mobile phone, sophisticated car, a luxurious bungalow, owning a big company and so on…..
Can you guess where this wishes will end. Certainly it has got no end. It keeps on growing and this type of wishes we call it as desires.

When it comes to dreams we will get bit confused. I will clear your doubts by sharing this saying:
“Dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that doesn’t let you to sleep.”
— A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Yes I am talking about the dream which doesn’t let you to sleep.

We all heard ” ‘Dream big’, is the key for success”. Is that dream big means to buy a big bungalow or a sophisticated aircraft…. If not, then what is a dream? Dream is something which do good to the mankind.. and mostly won’t be self- centered.

Most people get confused with dream and desires. I heard about some parents who taught their children ” if you study well , you will get a big job with a high figure salary, which leads to the luxurious life. And I have also seen those parents struggling because of their teachings.

Most people will wonder what’s wrong in that. “The purpose of education is to build the character of a child and use their learning to serve the society”. I don’t want to go deep into education but I have given a small gist about education , to indicate where you have gone wrong.

Why does the parents suffer? Because you have taught them desire not dream. As desires got no ends those children will go only behind money and fails to understand the purpose of life. And at the end they fail in their life.

Even though dream and desire looks similar, it could cause huge difference in their outcomes. I will make this clear with a small example.

Just consider me as a writer with 2 different wishes. If I say ” I wish to get 1000 likes for my post” and if I say ” I wish to serve mankind through my writing ( post)”.

Both looks similar but not the same. This is the case how desire and dream sounds. Can you guess which one is desire and which one is dream? Keep guessing, I will go ahead with explaining my 2 different wishes

When I say ” I wish to get 1000 likes for my post” then my mind- set would be

  1. I will start searching for the topics which most people likes to read.
  2. No matter whether I got knowledge in that topic or not I will try to write something without vision.
  3. I will write by using difficult to understand words which makes foreign English readers to feel that “it has got something which I can’t understand”.
  4. I will write to please you without knowledge.
  5. I will kill my conscience just for the sake of getting1000 likes..

Social status expectations:

  1. I want to earn more money.
  2. An identity in society.
  3. I want to get some awards.

Outcome:
I will write some rubbish with sugar coated words which keeps you happy without knowledge.

My status:

  1. I bought a car.
  2. More people starts talking about me.
  3. I get awards.

I get fame by loosing peace of mind.

Now we will see when I say ” I wish to serve mankind through my writing”. Then my mind-set would be.

  1. I will search for topics which help people in the current situation.
  2. I will search and acquire knowledge before writing and write it with a vision.
  3. I won’t use difficult words so that even foreign English readers can understand.
  4. I will write in such a way that it gives courage to the people to overcome their problems.
  5. I won’t kill my conscience, so won’t bother about how many likes I get.

Social status expectations

  1. I am not bothered about earning money.
  2. I don’t want social identity.
  3. I won’t be interested in awards.

Outcomes:

I will able to deliver a topic with a foresight, which may not be interesting, but helps those who are going through difficult times. Which serves the mankind.

Social status:
I can’t buy a car , but can walk to places which keeps me fit.
• I won’t be known to many people but I will live in few hearts who never forgets me.
• I won’t get any awards. But I will have a great pride in my heart that my writing could help at least few people to overcome their problems.

I will have a peace of mind because I could help few people.

Yes , now you understood it correct, “1000 likes” is a desire whereas “helping mankind” is a dream.

Can you now understand what are the different outcomes of desire and dream.

Dreams gives you peace of mind rather then fame or money and also helps the people in difficulty.
Desires will gives you fame and money but not peace of mind. Desires cause huge threat to the mankind.

I guess, now you can differentiate between dream and desire. To help you understand better I have listed few differences between dream and desire, have a look:

• Desire are self centered whereas dreams are not self centered.
• Desire will do good for you and your family, whereas dreams will do good to the society and mankind
• Desires will pollute your heart with greedy, jealous, arrogance, etc…… whereas dreams will fill your heart with kindness, love, care etc….
• Desires will not let you to think out of the box whereas in the case of dreams , your brain will works wonders with fresh flow of thoughts.
• Desires will create problems, whereas dreams will find solutions to the problems.

I hope now you are clear with desires and dreams.

Always dream big, and keep your desires small.

“Desire is the root cause of all human suffering “
