Hi thinkers!
This is just my perspective about a girl child’s trauma.
It is easy for men to say that rape is an unjustifiable mistake. But I want everyone to look at this issue from the perspective of a girl or a woman.
When a girl reaches puberty and her reproductive system begins to function, her emotions and feelings also begin to evolve. She may not know whom she will eventually marry, but she naturally develops hopes and expectations about her future. She protects herself through her natural instincts and boundaries, waiting to give her love and trust to the man who truly wins her heart.
During this vulnerable phase, if a young girl or woman is sexually exploited, the impact can be devastating—physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. She may not be able to erase the experience from her mind. The trauma can be enormous and lifelong. It can affect her ability to trust others and even make it difficult for her to have a healthy relationship with her future husband or partner.
Especially in cases of gang rape, the trauma can be unimaginable. A survivor may struggle with physical contact, experience fear or panic, and find relationships extremely difficult. Her body and mind may continue to react to the trauma long after the incident. Her relationships and married life can be deeply affected.
No punishment, medicine, words, kindness, or prayers can simply erase what happened to her. Healing may take a long time, and some survivors may carry the effects of their trauma throughout their lives.
Apart from dealing with her own pain, she may also have to face society and endure insensitive comments, questions, and judgment—even from family members who may not fully understand her trauma. Sadly, in many cases, society finds it easier to blame the victim than to hold the offenders accountable.
Our society must understand that no compensation, medicine, or punishment given to the culprit can completely undo the damage caused to a survivor. Punishing offenders is necessary for justice, but prevention and protection are equally important.
The responsibility of the government and society should be to protect every child and woman. Offenders must be identified and held accountable, and harassment and abuse—whether physical, sexual, or verbal—should never be ignored or normalised.
Instead of questioning or blaming victims, we must create a society where offenders are held responsible and every girl can grow up feeling safe, respected, and protected.
Hope you agree with this.
